Chainlink's Privacy Standard Powers Secure Collateral Verification
Chainlink has announced that Space and Time has adopted its privacy standard to power its Virtual Vaults product. This integration enables lenders to verify collateral without seeing it, thanks to Confidential HTTP, a service that keeps credentials, request data, and responses confidential.
Vaults are custom credit vaults where collateral backing a loan is cryptographically proven. Each vault ties to a single lending agreement, covering eligible assets, venues, and risk thresholds. Lenders can verify backing assets held on private venues, including exchange accounts, prime brokers, and internal systems.
This integration targets the friction point of verifying backing assets without exposing sensitive account details to a counterparty. The scale of lending expected to use this system has not been publicly disclosed, and whether it drives meaningful institutional adoption remains an open question.
