Charles Schwab Adds Three Altcoins to Its Cryptocurrency Platform
Charles Schwab, a $13 trillion asset manager, is expanding its digital asset listings beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. The company announced that it will add Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) to its Schwab Crypto accounts in the near future. According to Joe Vietri, head of digital assets at Schwab, this expansion gives clients more ways to build a digital-asset allocation.
Schwab Crypto rolled out in May 2026, and now clients will be able to buy and sell SOL, AVAX, and LINK. The release noted that these three crypto assets 'will be available in the coming months,' but also stated that Schwab has the right to delay, modify, or withdraw support entirely for the specific crypto assets.
Since the news broke, SOL saw a 12.4% gain on Thursday, while AVAX jumped 4.6%, and LINK rose 6.8%. The $2.7 trillion crypto economy as a whole is currently rallying hard, with Bitcoin's price up 7% over the last seven days.
Schwab Crypto says it will provide clients with access to familiar cryptocurrencies backed by an ecosystem of education, tools, resources, and support to make informed decisions about how crypto might fit into their broader investing goals. This move comes as institutional crypto participation continues to grow, with brokerages acknowledging that crypto assets are now a standard portfolio sleeve.
