ChatGPT Helps Strategy Unlock $15 Billion in Capital with Innovative Financial Instrument
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, credits AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT for helping his company design a new financial instrument that unlocked $15 billion in capital in 2025. The innovative structure, called STRK, bridges debt and equity, allowing investors to participate in the company's bitcoin acquisition strategy beyond traditional convertible financing.
According to Saylor, Strategy had become one of the world's largest issuers of convertible bonds to finance additional bitcoin purchases, but this route eventually reached a limit. The company then turned to ChatGPT to explore alternative structures that didn't fit established templates, resulting in the development of STRK.
Saylor sees bitcoin as digital capital and AI as digital intelligence, predicting that these technologies will reshape corporate finance, automate knowledge work, and preserve scarce assets. He believes that AI can be used to solve complex problems that previously seemed impossible, and that entrepreneurs should leverage it to create new opportunities rather than competing with automated systems.
