Chelsea FC Partners with USDC Stablecoin Amid FCA Warning

Circle, the issuer behind the USDC stablecoin, has announced a sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club. Starting from the 2026/2027 season, USDC branding will feature on the team's jerseys.

The partnership comes just months after the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warned Premier League clubs about sponsorships involving 'unauthorized' financial firms, including crypto-related businesses.

Circle notes that USDC is issued by certain regulated affiliates, but it is not issued or regulated under UK law. This distinction may become important as regulators continue to scrutinize how digital asset companies market their products to retail audiences through mainstream sports sponsorships.
