Chelsea Teams Up with USDC Stablecoin Sponsor Circle
Circle Internet Group, Inc., the parent company of the USDC stablecoin, has announced a landmark partnership with Chelsea Football Club. The New York-listed firm will be the club's front-of-shirt sponsor for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The deal marks a significant move into mainstream adoption for stablecoins, which are pegged to the value of a fiat currency. Circle says that by reducing the cost and friction of moving value, they can broaden participation in the global economy and unlock greater opportunity for people everywhere.
Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, said: 'We built USDC on the belief that money should work seamlessly for everyone everywhere, the way the internet does.'
The partnership will see the Circle and USDC brands feature on the front of Chelsea's Men's, Women's, and Academy shirts. The first game featuring this new branding will be against Brighton in the Premier League.
