Chime Acquires Stride Bank for $590M, Boosts Revenue Guidance
Chime Financial, Inc., the company behind the popular digital banking platform Chime, has made a significant move to strengthen its banking infrastructure. The company agreed to acquire Stride Bank for $590 million in cash, which will give Chime direct control of a national bank charter.
The acquisition is expected to close during the first half of 2027 after receiving required federal approvals from the OCC and Federal Reserve. Once completed, Stride Bank will become Chime Bank, N.A., operating as Chime's wholly owned subsidiary.
Chime expects the deal to deliver more than $100 million in net synergies through fee savings, lending growth, and cheaper funding. The company also plans to connect its ChimeCore technology stack with Stride's banking infrastructure, leading to faster product development, simpler regulatory processes, and more direct account management.
As a result of the acquisition, Chime has raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to as much as $2.77 billion, representing annual growth of about 26% to 27%. The company also expects adjusted EBITDA to reach $481 million to $489 million, with margins between 17% and 18%.
