China Slaps Export Controls on US Firms Amid Drone Tech War Escalation
China's Ministry of Commerce has added ten US companies to its export control list in response to Washington's campaign to restrict Chinese tech firms from operating in the US market.
The move is a direct retaliation against the FCC, which banned imports from Chinese drone giants DJI and Autel Robotics in December 2025. The targeted US firms include Red Cat Holdings, Teal Drones, L3Harris, and USA Rare Earth.
The export restrictions apply to 'dual-use' items, including drones, robotic hardware, and swarm software that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. Chinese companies are now prohibited from selling these items to the listed US firms, and any middleman or organization worldwide attempting to supply them with such items will also be in violation.
The move has significant implications for the crypto and broader markets as USA Rare Earth relies heavily on rare earth materials controlled by China, which are essential for semiconductor production and crypto mining operations.
