Circle Acquires Tazapay for $400M to Bolster Global USDC Payments
Circle is acquiring Tazapay for $400 million in stock to expand its global USDC payment network. The Singapore-based payments infrastructure company processes over $25 billion in annualized payments, with approximately 60% of that volume being stablecoins.
Tazapay operates local payout rails across more than 100 markets and has worked with Circle since 2025 as a design partner for the Circle Payments Network. The acquisition brings Tazapay's existing payment base into Circle's global settlement network, particularly in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets where Tazapay already operates.
Circle CEO Rahul Shinghal expects the combination to connect local fiat rails with Circle's regulated dollar infrastructure at greater scale. The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
