Circle Acquires Tazapay to Boost B2B Stablecoin Payments
Circle Internet Group has acquired Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments platform, for approximately $400 million. This deal is expected to accelerate USDC adoption in stablecoin payments, particularly in B2B use cases.
Tazapay's proprietary compliance engine automates buyer and seller verification across 170+ countries, which will be integrated with Circle's USDC rails to provide a compliant onboarding and settlement layer. This will enable businesses to onboard international suppliers quickly and settle invoices in USDC within a single interface.
The acquisition positions Circle to control the full lifecycle of USDC: issuance, transfer, compliance, and settlement. This move is significant as it signals that the infrastructure for stablecoin payments is mature enough for institutional-grade volumes.
