Circle Aims for Global Payments Supremacy with Tazapay Acquisition
Circle, a leading digital financial services company, has announced its plan to acquire Singapore-based Tazapay in a strategic move to expand its cross-border payment capabilities. The deal is expected to close in 2027, pending regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Tazapay processes more than $25 billion annually and relies heavily on stablecoins, which aligns with Circle's strategy. This acquisition will strengthen Circle's presence across Asia-Pacific and emerging markets while enhancing its stablecoin-powered settlement infrastructure.
The company has been a design partner for the Circle Payments Network since 2025 and supports over 60 banking and fintech partners with payout rails spanning more than 100 markets. With this deal, Circle aims to make USDC the default payment rail for cross-border commerce.
