Circle Arc Names Banking Giants as Founding Validators Ahead of Mainnet Launch
Circle Arc has announced its founding validator cohort, which includes major financial institutions such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, and DTCC. This move marks a departure from traditional blockchain networks that rely on anonymous node operators.
The validator lineup is designed to meet the compliance standards required by the financial infrastructure, with Circle's Co-Founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire stating that they built Arc around the idea of creating a blockchain network that the financial system can trust.
According to Circle, the network has run in private mainnet with over 100 builders, with day-one apps spanning DeFi protocols such as Aave and Uniswap, payment providers including Rain and Wirex, and custody platforms such as Fireblocks and Ledger.
The push towards bank-grade infrastructure comes as institutional appetite for stablecoins continues to climb. Adjusted stablecoin transaction volume hit a record $1.79 trillion in June 2026, with USDC accounting for roughly 70 percent of that volume.
