Circle Axes Support for USDC and CCTP V1 on Noble by January Deadline
Circle is phasing out support for USDC and CCTP V1 on the Noble blockchain by January 12, 2027. The move reflects Circle's focus on migrating to its newer Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2, which promises faster transaction finality and enhanced security.
The transition has set key deadlines for users: USDC minting via Circle Mint will be disabled starting October 13, 2026. Redemptions of USDC on Noble will remain available until January 12, 2027, after which the asset will be fully paused. A manual redemption portal will open on January 13, 2027.
Circle advises institutional and self-custody USDC holders to move funds via centralized exchanges, decentralized swaps, or CCTP V1 burns to other supported chains before functionality winds down.
The exclusion of Noble from the upgrade may signal a strategic realignment of Circle's priorities within the Cosmos ecosystem. However, Circle has reaffirmed its commitment to Cosmos and highlighted partnerships with Injective and other Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC)-connected chains.
