Circle Bolsters Regulatory Foundation with NYDFS Approval

Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL) has secured a limited-purpose trust charter from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), giving it a major boost in its regulatory foundation.

The charter allows Circle Internet Trust Company LLC, operating as Circle New York Trust, to provide fiduciary and digital asset custody services under New York banking law.

This approval comes on the heels of the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) authorizing the company to establish Circle National Trust, a federally regulated national trust bank.

The combination of these two approvals strengthens the firm's regulatory framework as it expands the infrastructure supporting its USDC stablecoin.
