Circle Buys Singapore-Based Tazapay for $400M to Boost Global Payment Ambitions
Circle is doubling down on its ambition to make USDC the backbone of global payments by acquiring Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments platform, for $400 million in an all-stock deal.
The acquisition, which is expected to close in 2027 pending regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, marks Circle's boldest move yet to expand its payment capabilities and make USDC the default settlement layer for international commerce.
Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, serving over 60 banking and fintech partners across 100-plus markets. Stablecoins already account for about 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume.
