Circle Buys Singapore Payments Firm Tazapay for $400 Million
Circle has agreed to acquire Singapore-based payments company Tazapay for $400 million in stock. The deal will expand Circle's payments network across more than 100 markets, giving it access to over 60 banking and fintech partners through local collection and payout systems.
Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, with stablecoins accounting for about 60% of transactions. The company serves more than 1,000 businesses and fintech firms across 30 countries, with three straight years of doubled revenue.
The acquisition builds on Circle's previous purchases of payments and blockchain infrastructure companies, including Hashnote, Cybavo, Elements, Malachite, and the Centre Consortium from Coinbase. The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
