Circle Buys Singapore's Tazapay for $400 Million to Fuel USDC Growth
Circle Internet Group has agreed to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments firm, for $400 million in stock. The deal is expected to close in 2027, pending closing conditions and approval from Singapore's Monetary Authority.
Tazapay handles over $25 billion in annualized payment volume and connects to more than 60 banking and fintech partners, giving payment companies local collection and payout routes across over 100 markets. Approximately 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume already includes stablecoins, according to Circle.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire framed the deal as infrastructure logic, not hype, saying that combining USDC with Tazapay's banking relationships and local payout rails will speed up worldwide USDC adoption. The company has been a design partner for Circle Payments Network since 2025 and Circle Ventures led a Series B extension for Tazapay earlier this year.
