Circle Buys Tazapay for $400M, Expands Payments Reach to 100+ Markets
Circle, the USDC issuer and payments company, has agreed to acquire Singapore-headquartered cross-border payments infrastructure firm Tazapay in an all-stock deal worth $400 million. The acquisition will bring local payout rails and banking relationships across over 100 markets inside Circle's network.
The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Tazapay brings more than $25 billion of annualized payment volume, over 60 banking and fintech partners, and local payout rails covering more than 100 markets.
The deal marks a significant expansion for Circle's payments business, which currently relies on participating financial institutions to execute the payment flow. With Tazapay as an owned business, Circle will have direct control over its local payout infrastructure and institutional customers.
