Circle Buys Tazapay for $400M Payments Expansion
Circle, the stablecoin issuer behind USDC, is set to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure company, for $400 million in an all-stock deal. The acquisition gives Circle access to local payout rails in over 100 markets and $25 billion in annual payment volume.
The deal is pending regulatory approvals from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and other jurisdictions. Tazapay's services will remain unchanged during this period, with no changes expected to its pricing, APIs, or customer support.
Tazapay's network supports local currency collections and payouts across more than 100 markets, processing over $25 billion in annualized payment volume as of the announcement. Stablecoins account for about 60% of Tazapay's total transaction volume, aligning with Circle's core business.
