Circle Dumps Noble Blockchain in Favor of CCTP V2
Circle is phasing out support for its USDC stablecoin on the Noble blockchain. New minting of USDC through Circle Mint will stop on October 13, 2026.
The Noble USDC contract will pause completely on January 12, 2027, following a redemption window. This decision comes as part of Circle's transition to CCTP V2, a newer cross-chain transfer protocol that offers faster finality and stronger security than the legacy CCTP V1 system currently used by Noble.
Circle has confirmed that Noble will not receive the new protocol. Existing withdrawals and redemptions on Noble will continue without changes through October 12, 2026. After that date, minting new USDC to Noble via Circle Mint gets disabled, but redemptions still work.
Holders of USDC on Noble have a three-month window to move their funds. They can deposit into a centralized exchange that supports Noble USDC or use a DEX swap on Noble. Users can also burn USDC through CCTP V1 to a supported destination chain before the deadline. Circle plans to publish a list of known exit venues.
