Circle Dumps Noble Blockchain Support for USDC
Circle, the issuer of USD Coin (USDC), announced it will end support for USDC on the Noble blockchain network. This decision comes as Circle has decided not to introduce Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol V2 (CCTP V2) on Noble. New issuance of USDC through Circle Mint, which provides services for institutional clients, will stop on October 13.
Beginning January 12, 2027, the USDC contract and CCTP transfer routes on Noble will be discontinued. Circle will take a snapshot of remaining USDC balances at that time. A manual redemption portal will be available starting January 13, 2027, for users who fail to move their USDC to another network before support ends.
Circle's decision affects users holding USDC and CCTP V1 on Noble. This development highlights the evolving landscape of stablecoin support and transfer protocols in the blockchain industry.
