Circle Extends Coinbase Partnership, Chooses Growth Over Shareholder Payouts
Circle Internet Group has renewed its partnership with Coinbase for USDC distribution, maintaining a key channel for the stablecoin. This move comes as Circle's revenue reached $701 million in Q2, up 7% from last year.
The agreement ensures that USDC remains integrated across all of Coinbase's products. The company has more than 150 distribution agreements, providing economic incentives for partners to adopt and promote USDC. Circle and Coinbase can also collaborate on new partnerships where they believe another firm can increase USDC adoption.
Circle has ruled out quarterly dividends, instead choosing to reinvest cash in the business to generate stronger returns. CEO Jeremy Allaire believes that returns from investing in the platform are greater than those from paying out dividends.
