Circle has received an NYDFS trust charter for its Circle New York Trust unit, expanding its regulated stablecoin framework as USDC adoption grows in payments and trading.

The charter applies to Circle Internet Trust Company LLC, which will operate under the name Circle New York Trust. This approval supports Circle's focus on safety, transparency, customer protection, and regulatory compliance.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said, 'Earning a New York trust charter has been a longstanding objective for Circle given the regulatory clarity that comes with it.'

The NYDFS trust charter is another regulatory structure under which USDC will operate in the United States. This approval follows Circle's recent authorization from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, allowing the company to establish First National Digital Currency Bank.
