Circle Gives Legacy USDC Apps 95 Days to Migrate Before Cross-Chain Routes Stop
Circle is giving legacy USDC apps 95 days to migrate before old cross-chain transfer routes stop working. The company will cut CCTP V1 burn limits from October 31, and pause the legacy contracts on December 1.
CCTP V2 requires new contract addresses, interfaces, APIs, and updated depositForBurn and attestation calls. Aptos, Noble, and Sui remain V1-only, while Circle has not named integrations still relying on the legacy contracts.
The migration guide says users will retain access to funds during the phase-out, and pending redemptions will remain available. An attestation is Circle's signed approval for USDC burned on a source chain to be minted on a destination chain.
