Circle Internet Stock Soars 52.6% as Regulators and Analysts Boost Confidence
Circle Internet stock has experienced a significant surge in value over the past month. According to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence, the company's shares rose by 52.6% in August 2026, outperforming Bitcoin's 19.9% gain.
The stablecoin issuer posted solid earnings early last month, but regulatory milestones and analyst notes played a larger role in driving up its stock price. Circle received a trust charter in New York at the end of July, building on national trust approval earned earlier that month. These charters will enable Circle to compete with traditional banking services by creating and managing payment services using its USDC stablecoin.
While some investors remain skeptical about Circle's valuation, which is still trading at high multiples despite weak operating metrics compared to established financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase or American Express, the company's stock performance in August suggests that it may be gaining traction. A significant portion of Circle's stock - nearly 13% - is on loan to short-sellers, indicating that many investors are cautious about its prospects.
