Circle Minted $500M in USDC on Solana Amid Stablecoin Liquidity Shift
Circle has minted another $500 million in USDC on the Solana blockchain, bringing the total cumulative USDC minting on Solana to over $66 billion. This is part of a larger trend of stablecoin liquidity migration toward Solana, with Circle simultaneously burning USDC on other chains.
The July mint was executed in two tranches of $250 million each, following a similar $500 million single-day mint on June 8. This suggests that Circle has found a comfortable cadence for large-scale issuances on the network.
Circle's decision to mint more USDC on Solana is driven by demand from traders and institutions who need more liquidity on the chain. The stablecoin issuer's relationship with Solana dates back to a formal partnership with the Solana Foundation, which enabled native USDC issuance on the platform.
