Circle Partners with Chelsea FC as Official Sponsor and Front-of-Shirt Partner
Circle, a US-based financial technology company, has partnered with English Premier League soccer club Chelsea FC. The partnership marks Circle's entry into the world of professional sports as an official sponsor and will see the company's brand and its stablecoin, USDC, appear on Chelsea's uniforms beginning with the 2026/27 season.
The agreement covers all three teams affiliated with Chelsea: men's, women's, and academy. The first match featuring the new partnership took place on August 30 at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea played against Brighton & Hove Albion.
It is worth noting that Circle has already received regulatory approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in 2018, allowing it to operate as an electronic money institution. However, this approval does not extend to Circle's activities related to USDC or other cryptocurrencies.
