Circle Raises Revenue Outlook, Sees Growth Beyond USDC Stablecoin
Circle, the USDC stablecoin issuer, reported Q2 earnings that fell short of Wall Street expectations. Despite this, the company raised its full-year guidance for 'other revenue' to $310 million to $330 million, nearly doubling its previous forecast.
Circle's CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that the company's strategy extends beyond issuing stablecoins, citing its platform as a hub for traditional and digital finance, real-world assets, and institutional capital. This suggests that newer business lines will contribute significantly to future growth, reducing dependence on interest income tied to USDC reserves.
Retail sentiment around CRCL shares has shifted to 'bullish' from 'neutral', with chatter rising to 'high' levels on Stocktwits. However, some retail traders were confused by the muted movement of Circle shares, expecting a surge given the increased guidance.
