Circle Reports Q2 Earnings, Renews Coinbase Partnership Amid Concerns Over Stablecoin Growth
Circle's Q2 2026 earnings report confirmed its renewed partnership with Coinbase on existing terms, maintaining USDC's central role across the exchange's product ecosystem. The deal comes as Circle reported total revenue and reserve income of $701 million for Q2, up 7% year-over-year but slightly below Wall Street's estimate.
The company's CFO, Jeremy Fox-Geen, stated that Circle has no plans to introduce quarterly dividends, opting instead to reinvest capital in growth initiatives. This move aims to generate stronger long-term shareholder returns than direct payouts.
USDC circulation reached $73.3 billion, a 19% year-over-year increase, while on-chain transaction volume surged 151% to $14.8 trillion. Circle also disclosed several forward-looking milestones, including the launch of its Arc blockchain mainnet on September 16, 2026.
However, analysts raised concerns about the durability of Circle's core revenue engine due to a sequential USDC decline and shrinking reserve yield. Mizuho maintained an Underperform rating and $45 price target for CRCL shares, citing slower stablecoin growth and increasing competition from tokenized money market funds.
