Circle Secures Chelsea FC's Principal Shirt Sponsorship
Circle Internet Group has secured Chelsea FC's principal front-of-shirt sponsorship for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, making it a historic milestone in the partnership between cryptocurrency and football.
The USDC stablecoin logo will be prominently featured on Chelsea's Men's, Women's, and Academy team kits, with reports suggesting that Chelsea was seeking approximately £65 million ($88.3 million) annually for the sponsorship rights.
Circle has maintained authorization from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) via an e-money license obtained in 2016, satisfying crucial regulatory requirements for the partnership and positioning it as a compliant partner compared to other cryptocurrency companies without similar authorization.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire described the collaboration as 'an organic alignment' with the company's mission to make money work seamlessly everywhere, just like the internet. Chelsea President Jason Gannon called it an advancement of 'football's digital evolution.'
