Circle Secures New York Trust Company Charter for Enhanced Regulatory Compliance

Circle has received approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services to establish the legal basis for operating Circle New York Trust Company.

The charter will strengthen safety, transparency, and regulatory compliance framework while providing a more trusted environment for the USDC stablecoin operation.

According to Jeremy Allaire, Co-founder and CEO, the New York trust company charter has been a long-standing goal. He added that NYDFS sets a global standard for digital-asset regulation and that this approval will help place USDC within a strong and trusted regulatory framework.
