Circle Shares Surge 5% as Q2 Earnings Beat Profit Forecasts
Circle Internet Group's (CRCL) shares rose 5% in pre-market trading after its second-quarter earnings beat profit forecasts.
The company reported revenue of $701 million for Q2 2026, up 7% from the same period last year but slightly below the $713 million analysts had expected. Adjusted earnings came in at 18 cents per share, beating the 16 cents Wall Street had forecast.
The main driver of interest was Circle's dollar-backed stablecoin USDC, which saw its supply reach $73.3 billion, a 19% increase from the same period last year. On-chain transfer volume for USDC jumped 150% to $14.8 trillion during the quarter.
Circle also gave an update on Arc, its blockchain built for tokenized assets and payments, which has drawn over 100 institutions, including BlackRock and BNY Mellon, ahead of its September 16 public launch. The company renewed its USDC agreement with Coinbase on existing terms, with the deal running three more years through 2029.
