Circle Stock Plummets on Regulatory Fears Despite $75 Billion Growth Prediction
Circle's stock plummeted by 17 to 20 percent due to regulatory fears surrounding stablecoin yields, but experts at Bitwise Asset Management see significant growth potential for the company in the stablecoin market.
Ryan Rasmussen, Head of Research at Bitwise, argues that Circle could achieve a market capitalization of $75 billion by 2030. This forecast is based on conservative expectations regarding stablecoin adoption, which could expand the market to between $1.9 trillion and $2 trillion in the coming years.
Bitwise's model projects Circle to capture 25% of the total stablecoin market by 2030, with USDC's supply already exceeding $62 billion as of mid-2025. The company could see annual revenues reach around $10 billion if the market grows to $1 trillion or nearly $50 billion if it reaches $5 trillion.
Bitwise believes that the market's response to regulatory developments is exaggerated, as Circle has a diverse revenue model and its role in the regulated stablecoin market provides robust advantages. Even with yield restrictions, the company's transparency with reserves and partnerships with established financial institutions could help it retain its market share.
