Circle Surpasses $73B in Circulating USDC Supply as Arc Mainnet Launch Looms
Circle, the leading issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company's metrics demonstrate significant growth in both transaction volume and market share of USDC. According to Circle, the circulating supply of USDC reached $73.3 billion, with a total on-chain transaction volume growing by 151% year-over-year to $14.8 trillion.
The market share of USDC among stablecoins was 27%, with over 7 million active wallets. Circle's total revenue and profit from reserves amounted to $701 million, which is 7% higher than the same period last year. The company's net profit reached $48 million.
Circle has also announced the launch of the Arc mainnet, an institutional blockchain for programmable finance. Over 100 institutional and ecosystem developers are already working on Arc, with financial giants such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, ICE, DTCC, Standard Chartered, Galaxy, Global Payments, MoneyGram, SBI Group, and Sumitomo Corporation set to be the first validators of the network.
Circle positions Arc as a fundamentally new model of blockchain infrastructure, where the network is secured by the very financial institutions that actively use it. The company has also received final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish Circle National Trust, allowing the company to federally regulate the storage of digital assets and manage USDC reserves.
