Circle Unveils Discovery API to Simplify USDC Payments Across Chains

Circle has launched its Discovery API, a tool designed to simplify how AI agents and developers identify and pay for services using USDC, Circle's stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar.

The API consolidates x402-compatible services into a single public endpoint, providing structured JSON responses that detail payment terms, supported networks, and usage instructions.

This is part of Circle's broader push into AI-driven automation and payment infrastructure, dubbed the 'agentic economy', which includes integrating programmable wallets, service discovery tools, and machine-readable payment controls to facilitate automated transactions.
