Circle Updates CCTP Fast Transfer with Upfront Fee Payments
Circle has made an update to its CCTP (Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol) Fast Transfer, which allows developers to quote and collect cross-chain USDC fees upfront.
This change means that developers can now pay protocol fees before submitting the transfer on the source blockchain, ensuring that recipients receive the full amount they were promised.
The update requires an EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) source chain, but transfers can still end on supported non-EVM networks. Fees can be paid in USDC or the native gas token of the source blockchain.
