Circle's AI-Friendly API Makes Shopping with USDC Easier Than Ever
Circle has made it easier for AI agents to shop around by rolling out its Discovery API as part of its Agent Stack platform. The USDC issuer launched the public endpoint on July 31, allowing autonomous software to browse, filter, and evaluate services that accept USDC payments without human intervention.
The Discovery API supports 14 query parameters for filtering results, including category, blockchain, pricing, and other criteria. This means agents can search for services that match their specific needs and find counterparties that have already passed compliance checks.
The Agent Stack, launched on May 11 alongside Circle's Q1 2026 earnings, includes Agent Wallets for autonomous fund management, a Nanopayments system for small machine-to-machine transfers, and an Agent Marketplace where services can list themselves for discovery by other agents. The stack is designed to be chain- and protocol-agnostic, with initial support spanning Arbitrum, Base, and Ethereum.
