Circle's Arc Blockchain Targets Sept 16 Public Mainnet Launch
Circle's Arc blockchain is reportedly on track for its public mainnet launch on September 16. The network will be open to all users and applications, but block production will remain within a permissioned validator set.
Circle has announced that the private mainnet has seen over half a billion testnet transactions, nearly three million wallets, and more than 100 partners actively using it. An initial validator cohort is expected to help operate the network alongside Circle.
The Arc blockchain uses permissioned proof-of-authority consensus, where a rotating validator proposes each block and more than two-thirds of validators must agree before it is committed. The network's testnet explorer has displayed 671.5 million total transactions.
