Circle's Gateway infrastructure has gotten a significant boost thanks to Eco's new fast-deposit service. This partnership compresses the time it takes to move USDC between blockchains from 13 to 19 minutes down to just 20 to 40 seconds.
This is achieved by routing deposits through faster chains like Polygon and Avalanche, which can finalize transactions in mere seconds. The mechanism relies on ERC-3009 authorizations, a token standard that enables gasless transfer approvals.
The non-custodial architecture of Gateway means users retain control of their assets, with a 7-day trustless withdrawal option ensuring they can recover their funds even if services disappear. This setup also supports more complex wallet setups and multi-signature schemes through ERC-1271 verification standards.
