Citi Aims for Crypto Integration with New Digital Asset Custody Service
Citi, one of the leading banks in the US, is set to launch its digital asset custody service later this year. The new platform, Custody+, will combine traditional and digital asset custody solutions under one roof.
The bank aims to enable institutional clients to manage their financial assets and cryptocurrency holdings through a more integrated infrastructure. Citi's selection of Bitcoin as its first digital asset highlights the priority position it holds in the institution's approach to the crypto market.
While other digital assets may be included on the platform at a later stage, the bank emphasizes the importance of accommodating both traditional custody services and the 24/7 trading nature of the digital asset market.
The launch is scheduled for 2026, with Bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency to be supported by Citi's new Custody+ platform.
