CJ Ujah Denies Involvement in Cryptocurrency Scam

Olympic sprinter CJ Ujah has pleaded not guilty to charges of cryptocurrency fraud. The 32-year-old athlete, from Enfield in north London, was among 10 people accused of being part of an organised crime group linked to a scamming activity.

The alleged fraud involved phone calls to multiple victims from people claiming to be police officers and cryptocurrency companies. One of the alleged victims is said to have lost more than £300,000 after being tricked into sharing important security details before discovering funds stored in their crypto wallets were stolen.

Ujah was cleared of intentionally taking banned substances in 2021, after his team's silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics was stripped due to a positive test. He had raced in the 4x100m final that year.
