CLARITY Act Advances Toward Senate Vote on Cryptocurrency Regulations
The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act has taken a significant step forward in its journey through the US Senate. On August 8, Majority Leader John Thune filed a cloture motion for H.R. 3633, paving the way for Senate consideration of the bill in September.
This move comes after Thune previously postponed Senate consideration until lawmakers returned from their August recess. The cloture filing now sets up a procedural path for the Senate to review the legislation when they reconvene.
The CLARITY Act aims to establish clearer federal rules for digital assets, define regulatory responsibilities, and provide clearer guidelines for crypto exchanges and other digital asset businesses.
