CLARITY Act Could Advance Quickly With Right Catalyst, Says Solana Policy Institute President
The CLARITY Act, a U.S. crypto market-structure legislation, could advance quickly if lawmakers find the right catalyst, according to Kristin Smith, president of the Solana Policy Institute.
In an interview with Crypto in America, Smith highlighted the possibility of a last-minute breakthrough despite ongoing political hurdles.
The Senate is scheduled to vote on a motion to proceed on Sept. 15, a step that requires 60 votes and could determine whether lawmakers move the legislation into formal debate.
The revised text of the bill includes provisions addressing when certain non-decentralized finance protocols would need to register with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and clarifications concerning digital-asset activities by credit unions.
