CLARITY Act Could Favor Smart Contract Platforms Over Bitcoin
Grayscale's Head of Research, Zach Pandl, believes that if the CLARITY Act passes on September 15, it will be a positive catalyst for cryptocurrencies. The act aims to normalize how crypto is regulated relative to other established industries.
Pandl sees parallels between the current market conditions and the period following the last major bottom in 2022-2023. He notes that while attention has waned, the fundamental drivers of the asset class remain unchanged.
The CLARITY Act may benefit smart contract platforms more than Bitcoin itself, according to Pandl. This is because these platforms already have a clear regulatory status and a broader use case, setting them up for greater gains in the event of the act's passage.
