CLARITY Act Could See Vote as Early as Next Monday: Shirzad Predicts
Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad has predicted that the CLARITY Act, which aims to establish a legal structure for digital asset classification in the U.S., could be voted on as early as next Monday. The bill has already passed the House with a strong bipartisan vote and is now awaiting Senate approval.
Shirzad stated that he believes there are enough votes in favor of the bill, citing Senate Majority Leader John Thune's commitment to getting it done before August recess. He also mentioned that the bill has undergone significant changes to reflect Democratic priorities, which may have helped to secure additional support from Democrats.
The CLARITY Act would provide much-needed regulatory clarity for digital assets like XRP, which currently lacks a clear legal framework. Shirzad's prediction has sent a wave of optimism through the crypto community, with many hoping that the bill will pass before recess and pave the way for greater adoption of digital assets.
