CLARITY Act Delay Boosts Asian Crypto Hubs
The U.S. Senate has delayed voting on the CLARITY Act until after the August recess, giving regulatory clarity to other jurisdictions like Hong Kong and Singapore.
According to First Digital CEO Vincent Chok, this delay allows these regions more time to demonstrate that regulation and innovation can coexist, potentially attracting more talent and capital. Chok said markets can adjust to slower timelines but struggle with prolonged uncertainty.
The CLARITY Act aims to provide a framework for digital asset market structure in the U.S., but without it, institutions may face 'regulation by enforcement,' which can lead to compliance costs and operational difficulties.
