CLARITY Act Delay Sparks Frustration Among Crypto Leaders
The CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at providing clarity to the digital asset market, has been missing from the Senate schedule for August 3. The latest published floor agenda does not include any reference to H.R. 3633, leading some to question whether it is still a priority.
Senate leaders are currently focused on a procedural vote regarding a continuing resolution (H.R. 6500), rather than the CLARITY Act. However, this does not necessarily mean the bill is doomed, but rather that the necessary public moves have not yet been made to bring it to the floor.
Anthony Scaramucci expressed frustration with the delay, stating 'it now feels like the Republicans don't want the CLARITY Act to pass so they can blame the Democrats for not passing it and then seek donations from the crypto industry in the Fall.' He urged leaders to 'put this bill on the floor.'
CLARITY Act approval odds have dropped to 33%, according to a well-known crypto trader, who pointed out that the next five days are crucial before the August recess. Tom Shaughnessy Jr., co-founder of Delphi Digital, remains hopeful and believes there is still time for the bill to pass.
