CLARITY Act Faces Sudden Uncertainty as Senate's Agenda Skips Bill

Share

The US Senate is in its final stretch before recess, and the CLARITY Act's fate remains uncertain. The bill aims to provide regulatory clarity for digital assets, but with just five days left, lawmakers are racing against time to move it forward.

Crypto advocates continue to push for the bill, but former CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo has urged the industry not to treat it as an all-or-nothing moment. He believes that blockchain innovation will continue regardless of the bill's passage.

Giancarlo acknowledged that the CLARITY Act contains valuable provisions, including the reauthorization of LabCFTC, which he launched during his tenure at the CFTC. However, he warned that the industry should not assume that crypto innovation depends entirely on the bill.
