Clarity Act Faces Uncertain Future as US Crypto Regulation Looms
Grayscale's Research Director Zach Pandl has downplayed expectations for the Clarity Act to pass Congress this year. The bill aimed to create a comprehensive regulatory framework for the US cryptocurrency market, but its prospects seem uncertain due to the Senate's busy schedule and election year politics.
Pandl noted that even without the Clarity Act, federal regulators will continue to fill regulatory gaps in the sector. This includes developing new rules and regulations, particularly in areas such as tokenized securities.
The failure of the Clarity Act to become law may not directly impact the demand for Bitcoin or the functioning of major blockchains in the short term. However, it could slow down new investment activity and capital formation in the US.
