CLARITY Act Falters as US Market Structure Framework Remains Unclear

Grayscale's Head of Research Zach Pandl believes that the CLARITY Act has little chance of passing this year. The main obstacles are constraints in the Senate calendar and election-year politics, according to Pandl.

The legislation aims to improve market structure and clarify regulatory requirements for the US financial industry. However, without it, regulators will likely continue addressing gaps through rulemaking, particularly in areas involving tokenized securities.

Pandl warned that a comprehensive U.S. market structure framework is crucial for attracting new investment and developer activity. Without it, some of these activities might move overseas, potentially affecting the US economy.
