CLARITY Act Heads for High-Stakes Senate Showdown on September 15
The CLARITY Act is one step closer to becoming law after Senate Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed, setting up a floor vote for September 15 at 2:15 p.m. ET.
This procedural move gives the crypto market structure bill a formal path forward when lawmakers return from their August recess.
However, it's far from a guarantee of passage, as at least seven Democrats or independents must join Republicans to clear the 60-vote threshold.
Falling short would stall the bill for now, pushing any resolution deeper into an already crowded election-year calendar.
